Marine operations

Larger service vessels and lifting operations, in demanding weather situations, cause the need for calculations of the loads occurring during the operation. Our experienced engineers perform calculations on different types of marine operation for both the aquaculture, and the oil and gas industry.

Marine and subsea operations

Marine and subsea operations of various equipment require knowledge of the weather windows where the structure can withstand the loads caused by winds, waves and currents. Wave loads on the lifted construction will often be the limiting factor. AquaSim provides the possibility to calculate and visualize the internal stress distributions in the components, as well as the interaction with fluid and structure.

Service and live fish vessel operations

Service vessel operations in rough weather conditions might cause high loads, in the mooring system and the aquaculture installation, which could lead to capacity exceedance of components in the structure. It is often difficult to determine when it is safe to perform an operation based on the weather conditions, and wrong decisions could cause damaged equipment, escaped fish and high costs. We can perform calculations of the interaction between the structures, and recommend suitable weather windows.

Oil and gas installations

For offshore operations, e.g. installations, the analysis in AquaSim have the advantage that the analysis includes the flexibility not only of the slings but also of the system being installed. AquaSim provides the possibility to calculate and visualize the internal stress distributions in the components, as well as the interaction with fluid and structure.

Towing

We have a wide experience in analysis of towed systems for the seismic industry based on AquaSim. AquaSim provides the possibility to calculate and visualize the internal stress distributions in the components, as well as the interaction with fluid and structure.
